Plans for Perth Hub next to Perth Arena
PERTH Arena’s new neighbour will be a mixed-use tower named Perth Hub, which will include a 270-room Dorsett Hotel and 304 apartments.
It’s the latest transformational CBD project to be unveiled by Far East Consortium, the same developer building the Ritz-Carlton hotel and The Towers apartments at Elizabeth Quay.
The Hong Kong-listed firm has lodged planning applications worth $158 million for Lots 2 and 3A of the Perth City Link, at 600 Wellington Street, which it bought in 2016.
FEC WA manager Dan Sweet said the 32-storey Perth Hub would have a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments with retail, office and restaurant space on the lower floors.
“We think Perth Hub is going to be a really good opportunity for youthful buyers. We are very much targeting it at the young or young at heart,” he said.
“Being next door to Perth Arena is a big plus and it is in a fantastic location for anyone who enjoys the Northbridge and CBD lifestyle.”
Mr Sweet said the apartments would be affordable for a younger market.
The 41/2-star Dorsett Hotel will include a lobby bar, meeting space, pool and gym, as well as an Asian restaurant in keeping with the brand’s Chinese colonial theme.
Built on the edge of Northbridge’s Chinatown, Mr Sweet said there would be a strong Asian presence among the food and beverage options in Perth Hub.
He said the two buildings had been through the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s design review panel and he was confident approval would be granted.
“We are hoping we can launch before the middle of the year,” Mr Sweet said.
Located within the new designated lifestyle precinct of Perth City Link, Perth Hub will transform the CBD to become the ultimate destination for Perth tourism and living.
